Russian airlines cancel some flights to Azerbaijan

Russian airlines IrAero, Ural Airlines, and UTair have canceled flights to Azerbaijan from Ufa, Samara, Vladikavkaz, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, and Sochi.

UTair has canceled flights to Baku from Ufa and Samara. Passengers have already started receiving cancellation notifications via SMS. The flights remain in the booking system, but tickets cannot be purchased at least until the end of January.

Meanwhile, UTair will continue flights to Baku from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, and Surgut will continue.

IrAero has canceled flights to Baku from Vladikavkaz, Saratov, and Nizhny Novgorod from its schedule. Tickets for these flights have completely disappeared from the booking system. IrAero flights to Baku from Moscow, Kazan, Perm, Novosibirsk, and Krasnoyarsk remain operational.

Ural Airlines has suspended its program from Sochi. Only flights to Baku from Moscow and Yekaterinburg remain on sale.

As previously reported, Azerbaijanchr(“39”)s State Civil Aviation Agency decided to suspend flights to 8 Russian cities from December 28, 2024, until the completion of the final investigation of the AZAL aircraft crash: Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, and Vladikavkaz. Flight restrictions to Grozny and Makhachkala were introduced on December 25. The decision affects all airlines operating flights on these routes.
