December 31, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s foremost ground handling company, NAHCO Aviance, has renewed its contracts with three leading international carriers—Emirates, Turkish Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic—underscoring its ambition to achieve a N300 billion revenue projection by 2029.
The extension of these contracts, announced at the recent Facts Behind the Figures presentation at the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), aligns with NAHCO’s strategic growth plan to maintain its position as a leader in ground handling services across West Africa.
Dubai-based Emirates, which resumed scheduled flights to Nigeria in October, extended its ground handling agreement with NAHCO for another five years. Virgin Atlantic, known for its strong partnership with the company, also reaffirmed its commitment.
Similarly, Turkish Airlines, which has relied on NAHCO for ground handling services for years, renewed its contract, cementing the relationship between both entities.
Speaking on the development, NAHCO’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Indranil Gupta, hailed the contract renewals as a testament to the company’s consistency and reliability over the years.
“For 45 years, NAHCO has set the standard in ground handling services in Nigeria and the West African region. These partnerships reaffirm our leadership position and promise of excellent service to clients and shareholders alike,” Gupta said.
He further assured stakeholders of the company’s dedication to achieving its ambitious revenue target by investing in state-of-the-art equipment and continuous staff training.
The Group Executive Director, Commercial & Business Development, Prince Saheed Lasisi, described the renewed agreements as a significant milestone in NAHCO’s relationship with Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, and Turkish Airlines.
“It speaks volumes about the trust these global airlines have in our ability to deliver top-tier ground handling services. NAHCO is committed to exceeding expectations and ensuring these airlines remain the most satisfied operators in Nigeria,” Lasisi stated.
He emphasised that NAHCO’s service excellence would continue to attract partnerships with top-flight airlines, cementing its status as a trusted industry leader.
Founded in December 1979 by the Federal Government in partnership with international carriers such as Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Sabena, NAHCO has evolved from a government-owned enterprise into a fully privatized, publicly listed company on the NGX.
The company’s portfolio now includes diversified investments in energy, logistics, a Free Trade Zone, airport management, travel and hospitality, and food and beverage exports.
With these renewed partnerships and its ambitious growth plans, NAHCO aims to strengthen its leadership in the aviation industry while driving shareholder value and economic development in Nigeria.
