Air India has become the first airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi on both domestic and international routes. Passengers on Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and select A321 neo flights will be able to connect to the internet while flying above 10,000 feet. The service, which allows for multiple device connections, is subject to factors like satellite connectivity and government regulations. This rollout follows a successful pilot program on international flights to destinations like New York and London. Passengers will need to enter their PNR and last name to access Air India’s in-flight Wi-Fi to browse the internet.
What Air India said about its Wi-Fi service
“Wi-Fi is complimentary for an introductory period and will progressively roll out on other aircraft in the fleet over time. It will enable passengers to browse, access social media, catch up on work, or text friends and family,” the Tata Group company said TOI.
In a blog post, Rajesh Dogra the Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India wrote: “Connectivity is now an integral part of modern travel. For some, it is about the convenience and comfort of real-time sharing, while for others, it is about greater productivity and efficiency.
