Gurugram, 2nd January 2025: Air India has become the first Indian airline to introduce in-flight Wi-Fi internet connectivity on domestic routes. Starting today, passengers traveling on the airline’s Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and select Airbus A321neo aircraft can stay connected during their flights. The service is currently being offered free of charge for an introductory period.
Air India’s move aims to enhance the travel experience for passengers, allowing them to browse the internet, access social media, work, or communicate with family and friends while in the air. The feature will be available on both domestic and international flights operated by Wi-Fi-enabled aircraft.
“Connectivity has become a vital part of modern travel. For some passengers, it’s about staying productive and efficient, while for others, it’s about sharing real-time moments or simply staying in touch. We are thrilled to offer this service, which aligns with our commitment to providing an elevated travel experience,” said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India.
Passengers can access the Wi-Fi service on their laptops, tablets, or smartphones. The system even supports multiple device connections simultaneously once the aircraft reaches an altitude of over 10,000 feet.
The service rollout follows a successful pilot program on international routes to destinations such as New York, London, Paris, and Singapore. Air India plans to expand the service across its fleet in the coming months.
Steps to Access Air India’s In-Flight Wi-Fi:
Enable Wi-Fi on your device and go to Wi-Fi settings.

It’s important to note that the quality of the Wi-Fi service may vary depending on factors such as satellite connectivity, overall bandwidth usage, and regulatory restrictions.
With this initiative, Air India not only sets a benchmark for Indian aviation but also aims to cater to the evolving needs of tech-savvy travelers.
