South Korean police have raided the offices of Jeju Air and banned the airline’s chief executive from leaving the country as the investigation into the country’s worst air disaster continues.

Detectives investigating Sunday’s crash, which killed 179 people, searched the company’s offices and Muan airport, while placing a travel ban on Kim E-bae, the chief executive, on suspicion of professional negligence resulting in death, the Yonhap news agency reported.

Officers of the Jeonnam provincial police also gathered evidence related to the airport’s localiser, a navigation device that was mounted on a dirt and concrete embankment off the far end of a runway, according to reports.
