South American airline group JetSMART Airlines has signed up with ECS Group for GSSA services across four countries in South America.
The four-year deal is a total cargo management (TCM) agreement and covers the airline group’s operations in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Argentina, where it has four national AOCs.
“ECS Group will manage nearly 25,000 flights annually and significantly develop domestic markets for JetSMART Airlines’s four national AOCs,” ECS said in a press release.
“By focusing on high-demand commodities such as salmon, perishables, minerals, and mail services, this new venture positions JetSMART Airlines as a key player in strengthening South America’s cargo connectivity to global markets.”
The low-cost airline runs domestic routes within each of these countries and international routes connecting them to each other and to Brazil, the US, Europe, and Asia.
It is the first TCM agreement signed by the ECS group in South America with a regional airline.
ECS will establish dedicated commercial and operational teams in each country, coordinated through a control tower in San José, Costa Rica.
The GSSA added that JetSMART Airlines will gain access to digital tools, including e-booking via CargoAI, capacity management, and revenue optimisation platforms.
JetSMART Airlines is a member of the Indigo Partners group and operates a fleet of A320 and A321 aircraft.
Adrien Thominet, executive chairman of ECS Group, said: “Being entrusted by JetSMART Airlines reinforces our reputation as a global leader in Total Cargo Management.
“It reflects our proven expertise, innovative digital solutions, and ability to deliver exceptional results across continents. We are proud to see airlines worldwide placing their confidence in our capabilities.”
