Two bodies found in landing gear compartment of a plane at FLL, airline says

Two bodies were found in the landing gear compartment of a JetBlue plane at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the airline says.According to the airline, this happened during a routine post-flight maintenance inspection. In a statement, JetBlue says, “On Monday evening, January 6, at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, two individuals were found in the landing gear compartment of one of our aircraft during the routine post-flight maintenance inspection. Tragically, both individuals were deceased. At this time, the identities of the individuals and the circumstances surrounding how they accessed the aircraft remain under investigation. This is a heartbreaking situation, and we are committed to working closely with authorities to support their efforts to understand how this occurred.”The Broward County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying,Around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, Broward Sheriff’s Office Airport District deputies responded to a call regarding two individuals found in the landing gear area of a JetBlue aircraft at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue also responded. On scene, paramedics pronounced both individuals deceased. BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to investigate the circumstances of the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
