Getting to Disney World is now a little easier, thanks to a new seasonal non-stop flight from Alaska Airlines.
BOISE, Idaho — Want to get away to a beach or maybe a theme park? Alaska Airlines has a seasonal non-stop option to Orlando, Florida.
The Seattle-based airline is offering up the direct flight for about 3 months.
Flights will depart the Boise Airport two to three times a week through March 25th, 2025.
The inaugural flight left Boise just after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Passengers were excited for the direct flight, some even wearing yellow Disney shirts.
Airport spokesperson Jennifer Kronberg said the added growth in the Treasure Valley has increased demand for more direct flights.
“The airport has seen huge growth over the last five to 10 years, and we will have our numbers for 2024 very soon, and we expect it to be another record-breaking year for passenger travel. So, the demand is there,” said Kronberg.
Flight 766 was nearly full as passengers began boarding the 737 aircraft.
“This flight is being so well received by Boise passengers, people in the Treasure Valley, because there’s so many reasons to visit Orlando. There are all the amusement parks and theme parks. There are conferences and work opportunities for people, and people have a lot of families in the Orlando area. So, there’s so many reasons for people to go down there that we’re seeing a lot of really great support for this flight,” Kronberg said.
