The 14th Hactl international forklift and pallet building competition saw participants from ten international airlines, hosted at Hactl’s SuperTerminal 1 in Hong Kong.

China Southern Airlines emerged as the overall champion, while Japan Airlines secured the forklift competition and forklift driving safety award. Additionally, China Southern Airlines claimed first place in the pallet building competition, according to an official release from Hactl.

As in previous years, the forklift driving segment tested participants’ ability to navigate forklifts precisely and safely through complex courses, simulating real terminal conditions. Meanwhile, the pallet building contest required contestants to palletise as much cargo as possible within an hour, adhering to specified pallet contours, International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards, and industry best practices, mentions the release.

Around 300 spectators watched as participants from Air Canada, Finnair, Cargolux, China Southern Airlines, Emirates SkyCargo, IAG Cargo, Japan Airlines, Nippon Cargo Airlines, SF Airlines, Qatar Airways, and host Hactl competed for top honours.

“Hactl constantly strives for the overall betterment of the air cargo industry, and operational safety remains one of our top priorities,” says Wilson Kwong, Chief Executive, Hactl.

“We are delighted to have hosted the international forklift and pallet building competition once again, showcasing and rewarding industry best practice and bringing together industry partners from around the world.”
