The Nigerian Government has approved four airlines to transport pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This announcement was made by the Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof. Abdullahi Usman, through a statement issued by the commission’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Mrs. Fatima Usara, on Sunday in Abuja.

According to Usman, the approved carriers are Air Peace Ltd., Fly-Nas (a Saudi Arabian airline), Max Air, and UMZA Aviation Services Ltd.

The airlines were selected from a pool of 11 applicants following a rigorous screening process.

The screening, conducted by a 32-member Aviation Screening Committee inaugurated by NAHCON on November 26, 2024, included representatives from State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and aviation authorities such as the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), and Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

Prof. Usman announced that representatives from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) were among the newly appointed members of the Hajj operations team.

He added that the team also includes NAHCON board members representing each geo-political zone, as well as NAHCON’s Heads of Aviation, Procurement, Legal, Internal Audit, Special Duties, and a Board Member representing the aviation industry.

The NAHCON Chairman also revealed that three cargo carriers have been selected for the 2025 Hajj operations.

The companies are Aglow Aviation Support Services Ltd., Cargozeal Technology Ltd., and Qualla Investment Ltd.

He congratulated the selected firms and urged them to deliver on their commitments made during the screening process.

In addition, Prof. Usman signed the 2025 Hajj Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on behalf of the Nigerian Government.
