Frequent flyers will soon be able to use their Qantas Points to snare a seat on Hawaiian Airlines at low Classic Reward rates.

Qantas this week confirmed that beginning 1 October, an estimated 800,000 seats per year on Hawaiian Airlines – across both the business and economy cabins – would be made available to book with Qantas Points.

“We now have partnerships with over 45 airlines, giving members greater flexibility and choice in how they want to be rewarded,” says Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance.

Qantas’ partner play is all about unlocking “more opportunities for our members to use their points to book that dream overseas trip.”

Hawaiian Airlines is expected to join the Oneworld alliance in 2026, but Qantas is rolling out this bespoke partnership in advance in the same way as it has for Oman Air, which will join Oneworld on 30 June 2025.

Hawaiian Airlines is expected to sit on Qantas’ main Partner Classic Flight Reward table, although Qantas says the number of points needed for those reward bookings will increase “by up to 20%” from August 2025.

(This is part of a broader set of changes to the Qantas loyalty program which we’ve explained here.)

If you’re planning to fly through to the US mainland, which you’ll enter as a domestic traveller having cleared immigration during your Honolulu stopover), Hawaiian Airlines reaches 16 major cities.

As an example, here are the expected Partner Classic Reward rates for Sydney-Honolulu-Las Vegas:

By the time those flights are available through Qantas in October the revised Partner Classic Reward rates will be in effect, so you can probably add another 15-20% to the figures listed above just to be on the safe side.
