Folks looking forward to spring getaways and summer vacations, may want to take their tattoos and style of dress into account when looking to book a plane ticket.
Especially if they are planning to fly with Spirit Airlines.
And that is because, according to CNN, Spirit updated its contract of carriage on Jan. 22 and there are some interesting additions. Per CNN, it reads that passengers “shall not be permitted to board” or “may be required to leave an aircraft” if they are “barefoot or inadequately clothed, or whose clothing or article, including body art, is lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature.”
That’s right, if you have a questionable tattoo showing, and you want to save the few bucks that flying with Spirit can save you, you are going to have to plan ahead to covering that thing up if you want to make sure you actually make it to your destination.
Also, of note, CNN said the updated contract mentions “inadequately clothed” as “see-through clothing, not adequately covered, exposed breasts, buttocks or other parts.”
That’s right, if you plan to fly with Spirit you best not have your butt hanging out.
But seriously, you are probably going to want to be sure you maybe dress a little more conservatively, because it sounds like these folks are cracking down on provocative dress … or, for that matter, looks of any kind.
