has announced.

Mincetur is participating in “Routes Americas 2025,” a key international forum that brings together prominent representatives from carriers and airports, as well as tourism authorities and aviation industry professionals.

This major event is being held in Nassau, Bahamas. It sees the participation of over 1,000 aviation professionals, including more than 85 leading airlines in the region.

Deputy Tourism Minister Madeleine Burns —who is attending the forum— emphasized that Peru’s participation aims to strengthen its image as an international tourist destination by promoting strategic alliances with international airlines, opening new routes, and boosting inbound tourism.

“Routes Americas is an essential platform for enhancing air connectivity. This event allows us to promote the expansion of our international network and facilitate the arrival of more tourists in our country,” the government official stated.

During the fair new connectivity opportunities with destinations in North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean have been identified, which are expected to materialize in the short and medium term, Burn added.

First Achievements

At this event, the high-ranking official is taking part in key working meetings, conferences, seminars, and networking activities. As an initial result of these efforts, the entry of Turkish Airlines, Türkiye’s flagship air carrier, into Peru has been confirmed for the first half of 2025.

Similarly, Peru is on Air Canada’s priority list as one of the most attractive destinations for the resumption of its operations.

These activities aim to strengthen the South American country’s air service networks, encourage the opening of new routes, and increase flight frequencies, thereby contributing to the development of tourism and economic growth.

Likewise, the goal is to establish strategic alliances with international airlines to position Peru in the world’s market.

In addition, valuable information has been obtained on current trends in the air transportation sector amid the reactivation and recovery of global connectivity, which is essential for the development of inbound tourism.

It is worth noting that in the coming days Deputy Minister Burns and the attending Peruvian representatives will take part in bilateral meetings with government authorities from the Americas region, focusing on aviation management and regulation.

Moreover, the leading Peruvian operators are confirming their interest in expanding and strengthening their domestic and international operations, driven by the South American country’s sustained growth and strategic alliances —both through PromPeru’s efforts in promoting source markets and the incentive plans of airport operators.
