A rapidly expanding low-cost airline said Thursday it will add another nonstop route to more than a dozen it now offers at Bradley International Airport, beginning in June.

Breeze Airways will now fly to Greensboro-Winston-Salem, NC twice a week — Mondays and Fridays —  on a summer seasonal schedule. The service will launch June 6.

“Over the course of nearly four years, Breeze has seen a tremendous amount of growth since its arrival at Bradley International Airport and continues to offer new, nonstop routes to more destinations,” said Michael W. Shea, executive director of the Connecticut Airport Authority, which oversees Bradley’s operations.

“We greatly appreciate Breeze’s continuous investment at Bradley International Airport and the growing nonstop options they offer our travelers.”

In a statement, David Neeleman, Breeze’s founder and chief executive said: “Hartford is one of our largest bases and we continue to see growing demand for more service from Connecticut.”

Breeze has built its airline with a strategy of serving smaller markets with nonstop service that is not provided by its larger, long-established competitors. Breeze has often used a flurry of fare promotions to stimulate demand for the markets it serves.

Base fares offered by Breeze can increase depending on travel options chosen by passengers booking flights. Breeze offers both bundled and a la carte plans that cover such options as checked bags and priority seating.

In addition to the Greensboro destination, Breeze flies nonstop from Bradley:  between BDL and Charleston, Columbus, OH, Daytona Beach, Fort Myers, FL, Greenville-Spartanburg, SC, Jacksonville, FL, Las Vegas, NV, Myrtle Beach, SC, New Bern, NC, Norfolk, VA, Orlando, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Raleigh-Durham, NC, Richmond, VA, Sarasota/Bradenton, FL, Savannah, GA, Tampa, FL, Vero Beach, FL and Wilmington, NC.
