Airline senior Zion Smith and Benton senior Miller Malley won Division I boys events in the LHSAA State Indoor Track and Field Meet Saturday in LSU’s Carl Maddox Field House.
Smith won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.22 seconds. Prairieville junior Jaivyn Washington was second in 8.27. Warren Easton junior Jeron Bickham was third in 8.41.
Smith also had the fastest time in the prelims with a 7.99.
Malley won the pole vault. He cleared 14 feet, 5.25 inches. Barbe senior Carter Hooks was second with a 13-11.25.
Malley is the reigning Class 5A outdoor champion.
Airline sophomore Shelby Ledet tied for second in the Division I girls high jump. She and Covington junior Julia Jenkins both cleared 5 feet, 3 inches. John Curtis junior Addilyn Dufrene won with a jump of 5-5.
Airline junior Jayden Williams and Benton junior Brody Hutchison finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the boys 800-meter run. Williams ran a 2:02.50. Hutchison ran a 2:02.89. Mandeville junior Brayden Berglund won in 1:58.34.
Parkway junior Ben Ruliffson took fourth in the boys 1,600 in 4:28.48. Jesuit junior Connor Fan erg won in 4:22.53.
Parkway senior Devon Oliver finished fourth in the boys shot put with a toss of 54-2.75. Central Lafourche senior Kaden Adams won with a 58-6.25.
The Airline foursome of Lathon Woodland, Jayden Singleton, Jayden Williams and Jordan Williams finished fifth in the 4X400 relay in 3:31.81. Catholic-Baton Rouge won in 3:25.24.
Airline senior Jaycie Wallace finished seventh in the girls 60-meter dash with a time of 7.88. West Feliciana senior Tristen Harris won in 7.44.
Parkway junior Zaniyah Carter took seventh in the girls shot put with a 33-10. East Ascension senior Kirsten Mcgirt won with a 48-6.
The Airline foursome of Braylon Bryant, Kenny Darby, Terrance Hays and Smith was eighth in the boys 4X200 relay in 1:34.07. Scotlandville won in 1:29.57.
The Parkway foursome of Noah Lafitte, Drew Kent, Jesus Cordova and Brennan Robin finished eighth in the boys 4X800 relay in 8:19.96. Mandeville won in 8:01.23.
Airline was ninth in Division I boys with 19 points. Catholic won with 52. Benton was 11th with 12.
