A passenger traveling for a vacation experienced the unthinkable during a recent flight.

What happened aboard the flight?

What we know:

Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin found seats on their Qatar Airways flight from Melbourne, Australia to Doha, Qatar. A woman exited the plane’s bathroom and collapsed next to their row. Ring and Colin shared their ordeal with 9News Australia claiming that the cabin crew didn’t offer them a different seat to move to.

According to 9News Australia, the woman died, and the flight crew reportedly put her body in Ring and Colin’s row for the last four hours of the flight.

Ring told the news outlet that he spent the remaining hours of the flight in the same row as the body, alleging he was told to stay seated as medical crews took off blankets covering the body after the plane landed.

What we don’t know:

The woman’s identity and cause of death have not been released.

Couple said they were “traumatized” by experience

Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin said they were traumatized by what happened and told 9News Australia that Qatar Airways didn’t offer them any support.

What they’re saying:

“They have a duty of care towards their customers as well as their staff, we should be contacted to make sure, do you need some support, do you need some counselling,” Ring told 9News Australia. “I don’t really know how I feel and would like to speak to somebody to make sure I’m alright.”
