With more situations happening with airplanes around the country it looks like many are afraid to get on an airline to get to their destinations.

Are you afraid to get on a plane? Maybe you have a fear of heights or closed spaces that prevents you from wanting to fly, but it looks like many other Americans are having a fear of flying and finance reports show it.

We have had a string of recent incidents involving airplanes, and a few of them have been deadly. Of course we have the tragedy that took place at Reagan National airport in Washington DC where a military helicopter collided withe a commercial airline killing everyone. There have been many near misses and other airplane incidents that have left a lot of people hesitant.

Not only are many Americans not purchasing plane tickets because prices are high, but may of them say they don’t trust that they will get to their destinations safely.

According to CNN, they say that since the uptick in incidents many airlines saw an immediate down trend in ticket purchases. Delta CEO Ed Bastian said that it has impacted an entire generation of flyers that didn’t realize these types of things can happen.

Delta is one of the airlines that has experienced fallout from an incident where one of their planes flipped upside down upon landing. American Airlines was the airline that made global headlines when it was crashed into by a Blackhawk helicopter causing the death to all on board. American said that they projected revenue to fall short but said their focus remains on helping the families of the victims.
