As the 2025 summer aviation season approaches, LOT Polish Airlines is expanding its domestic flight offerings, adding more seats and optimizing its network across Poland. With 1.56 million seats available, the airline is increasing its summer capacity by 7.8% compared to 2024, ensuring greater connectivity between Warsaw Chopin Airport and regional cities.
From March 30 to October 26, Warsaw Chopin Airport is expected to handle up to 123,328 passenger operations, with domestic routes operated exclusively by LOT accounting for 15,467 flights—a 300-flight increase from the previous summer. The airline connects the capital with 10 Polish cities, including Kraków, Wrocław, and Gdańsk, which remain its busiest domestic routes.
Busiest Routes See Growth
The Warsaw-Kraków route will see the largest increase, with 2,569 flights planned and a total seat capacity of 315,958 passengers, reinforcing Kraków’s position as the airline’s top domestic destination.
The Warsaw-Wrocław route will also experience a boost in capacity. While the number of flights remains unchanged, the introduction of larger aircraft will increase the available seats from 253,426 to 273,644.
LOT will operate 2,398 flights between Warsaw and Gdańsk, accommodating up to 244,000 passengers, further strengthening one of Poland’s key domestic air links.
Notable Changes Across the Network
- Rzeszów flights see the biggest increase, with a 35% growth in capacity, despite a slight reduction in total flights.
- Poznań will have 1,916 flights, adding 329 more flights compared to last year, with a total capacity of 159,992 seats.
- Szczecin flights will offer 127,484 seats across 1,502 operations.
Some routes, however, will experience reductions. Katowice flights will drop by 12%, with 1,440 flights planned, down from 1,644 the previous year. Seat capacity on this route will also decline by 15%. Bydgoszcz will see a smaller summer schedule, with 366 flights and 30,012 seats available, reflecting a 5-7% decrease year-over-year.
Summer Travel Outlook
With an average of 101 seats per flight, up from 96 in 2024, LOT Polish Airlines is enhancing efficiency while meeting the growing demand for domestic air travel. Warsaw Chopin Airport remains the central hub for these operations, as domestic routes will account for 12.54% of total airport traffic this summer.
As Poland’s largest airline, LOT continues to refine its summer schedule, ensuring travelers have more options and better connectivity across the country. With the seasonal increase in flights and seat availability, the airline is set to play a key role in facilitating domestic travel throughout the busy summer months.
