Istanbul-based MNG Airlines has taken delivery of an A330-300 converted freighter. The aircraft was acquired on a long-term operating lease from Stratos, an aircraft investment firm with a significant portfolio of leased aircraft.
Stratos provides acquisition, re-marketing, advisory, and capital-raising services to airlines, lenders, and investors in large commercial aircraft.
The 11-year-old aircraft, registered as TC-MCP and bearing MSN 1510, was converted to a freighter by EFW in Dresden, Germany.
The aircraft was converted in May 2024. It was initially delivered to Philippine Airlines as an Airbus A330-300 in April 2014 and was withdrawn from service on August 27, 2020, according to data from Planespotters.net.
It is the second aircraft that Stratos has both converted and maintained at the EFW facility in Dresden.
“We are delighted to have placed this A330-300P2F with a steadily growing carrier and we look forward to deepening this highly collaborative relationship. As a new customer of Stratos, the MNG team has been great to deal with and we are proud to be a part of this airline’s continued expansion,” says Camille Pousseur, Marketing Director, Stratos.
With the delivery of this aircraft, MNG’s fleet has grown to 12 aircraft. In addition to the A330-300Fs, the airline also operates A330-200Fs, A321-200Fs, A300-600Fs, and an A300C4-600, a convertible freighter variant of the A300-600.
“As MNG Airlines, we are very pleased to be partnering with Stratos. The addition of the new A330-300P2F to our fleet marks a major step toward expanding our global logistics network and delivering even more efficient solutions to our customers. We extend our sincere thanks to the Stratos team for their support and look forward to strengthening our partnership for years to come,” says Ali Sedat Özkazanç, Chief Executive, MNG Airlines.
MNG Airlines offers both scheduled and charter services, with tailored aircraft and capacity options, covering destinations in the Middle East, the Far East, the USA, and Europe.
