Frontier Airlines unveiled sweeping changes to its product and customer service offerings, a shift the low-cost carrier has dubbed “The New Frontier.”
As part of the changes, Frontier announced the new UpFront Plus seating options, which include an upgraded seating option with extra leg and elbow room in the first two rows of the aircraft.
UpFront Plus travelers also enjoy a window or aisle seat with extra legroom and a guaranteed empty middle seat. Frontier also revealed it will introduce free, unlimited companion travel for its most loyal customers, starting in the coming months.
Debuting in late 2025, the low-cost carrier will also offer First Class seating on every flight.
“We’ve always had heart. Some airlines are walking away from what travelers love, but we’re running towards it,” Frontier CEO Barry Biffle said. “Think of this as the ultimate ‘divorce your old airline’ deal. If travelers show us the love, we’ll make these perks permanent.”
“At the end of the day, travelers just want to be valued,” Biffle continued. “We’re bringing back the things people love about flying — free bags, free seat selection, and flexibility — without the extra fees. No games, just great value.”
To celebrate, Frontier is offering customers who book nonstop travel through August 18 the Economy Bundle for free, including complimentary seat selection, flight changes, and a carry-on bag. The change comes on the heels of Southwest Airlines revealing that it would no longer offer free bags.
The airline also revealed it would offer a free checked bag for flights departing May 28 through August 18 when travelers use promo code FREEBAG. Fares start as low as $39 each way.
