American Airlines recently announced a new route connecting its hub in Charlotte, NC to the picturesque mountain town of Aspen, CO.
The new flight begins just in time for the holiday season on December 19, 2025, and will operate daily. The route will operate on the CRJ-700 aircraft, and depart Charlotte at 9:05 a.m., and arrive in Aspen at 10:55 a.m. The return flight will depart Aspen at 11:40 a.m., and arrive back in Charlotte at 5:05 p.m.
The airline says that the new Aspen flight will be its first-ever nonstop from Charlotte, and complement its existing Charlotte to Denver (DEN) route.
“For travelers looking at a ski vacation in Colorado, American will make the journey more convenient with new seasonal service between Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT), and Aspen, Colorado (ASE), launching Dec. 19,” American Airlines shared in a release about the new route.
American Airlines is the latest airline to add new routes to Aspen. Delta Air Lines recently launched new service from Atlanta, GA (ATL) and Los Angeles (LAX) to Aspen.
Recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the “Best Places to Travel,” Aspen is known for its mountain slopes, charming downtown district, and classic hotels such as Hotel Jerome – Auberge Resorts Collection, Aspen Meadows, and The Little Nell. The town is also home to the annual Food & Wine Classic, which occurs during the summer and invites culinary leaders from around the world to present their best dishes.
The new Aspen route comes as American Airlines has been expanding its route map with new destinations. The airline will add new routes to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic from Indianapolis (IND), Nashville (BNA), Pittsburgh (PIT), and Raleigh-Durham (RDU).
