Spirit Airlines has clarified the rules for what sort of clothing passengers will not be allowed to wear if they want to get on their flight and stay on it. This week the low-cost carrier updated its ‘contract of carriage’ in which it defined what it means by “inadequately clothed” as stated in the previous version.

It also specified that not only attire or articles that are “lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature” will see you miss your flight with Spirit, and not get a refund, but it also now applies to body art. Here’s a looks at the specifics.

Spirit cracks down on lewd and revealing clothing and attire

As signs you often encounter at other establishments when you walk in, Spirit is laying down the law with the idea of “No shirt, No Shoes, No service.” Like other airlines, you will not be allowed onto a flight, nor stay on if you choose to go barefoot.

By inadequate clothing, the low-cost airline specifies that any “see-through clothing” or attire that does not adequately cover any of your “private parts,” especially breasts and buttocks will result in you not getting on your flight.

Should you somehow choose to break the rules once on, you will be escorted off the plane. That happened to two women in October who were on a plane from LA to New Orleans.

They were wearing sweaters when they boarded but took them off to cool down in the hot muggy cabin. One of the flight attendants felt that their crop tops were revealing too much and asked them to cover up. In the end they found themselves kicked off the flight and a woman, along with her toddler, sitting in front of them who tried to defend them.

Also, be sure to take a shower and put on some deodorant before you get on your Spirit flight, because unless it’s due to a qualified medical condition, offensive odor will not be tolerated and you could see yourself denied boarding or required to leave the plane.
