The Benton Tigers, Parkway Panthers and Airline Vikings won tournament games Friday.

Benton defeated Natchitoches Central 10-0 in five innings and Northwood 9-5 in the Northwood tournament. Parkway defeated Texas High 14-8 at Parkway. The game was also a part of the Northwood tournament.

Airline defeated D’Arbonne Woods 4-1 in Farmerville in the Trey Altick Classic.

Elsewhere, Haughton dropped a 2-1 decision to Sterlington in the first of a three-game series at Sterlington.

At D’Arbonne Woods, Airline’s Ayden Hawn went 2-for-4. Silas Endris had three stolen bases and scored two runs. Bo Carter had two RBI and Austin Smith one.

Crew Chandler allowed just one hit in 4 2/3 innings of relief. He struck out five and walked only one.

Airline (3-2) completes play in the tournament Saturday against Walker at noon at Ouachita Christian and Neville at 5 at Neville.

Benton took advantage of 12 walks against Natchitoches Central. 

Starter Tanner Webb allowed one hit in three innings. He struck out seven and walked two.

Jax Prewitt didn’t allow a hit or walk in two innings.

Jackson Jones had a single and three RBI. Cole Snell drew three walks. Case Jorden, Colton Birdsong and Brody Turnipseed all drew two. Jones, Turnipseed, Jorden, Hayden Millen and Kade Bryant all had singles.

Benton scored five runs in top of the third to take a 7-0 lead against Northwood,

Jorden led off with a double and Millen followed with a single. Snell walked and Jorden scored on a wild pitch. Bryant walked then Jones brought home Millen and Snell with a double.

Sacrifice flys by Griffin Sibley and Mason Patterson made it 7-0.

The Tigers made it 9-1 with two in the seventh. Jones finished with three RBI. Bubba Pierce had two.

Starter Thomas Allen went 4 2/3 innings. He had eight strikeouts and no walks. 

Benton (7-0) continues play in the tournament Saturday against Catholic-Point Coupee at 11 a.m. 

At Parkway, eight Panthers combined for 13 hits. Colby Donaldson went 3-for-3 with a double. Brady Prine went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Abel Thetford had two doubles and drew two walks. Trent Howard went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Trailing 5-4, Parkway scored six in the bottom of the fourth. Texas High cut the lead to two with three in the top of the fifth. The Panthers (3-1)  answered with four in the sixth.

Hunter Schneider pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief for the win. Zach Plunkett gave up only one hit in the final 2 1/3 innings.

At Sterlington, JP Cormier’s solo home run tied the game in the top of the fourth. Sterlington used three singles to score the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh.

Haughton starter Seth Jorstad allowed one hit in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out three and walked four.

Sterlington (4-0) was the non-select Division III runner-up last season. Haughton dropped to 3-2.

The teams will complete the series Saturday with a doubleheader at Haughton starting at noon.
