DENVER (KDVR) — As Red Rocks season is picking up, United Airlines announced its partnership with the iconic Colorado venue, allowing cardholders to use their credit card points on concert tickets.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre has hosted legendary artists anywhere from The Beatles to Johnny Cash. It’s a bucket list venue for concert-goers and even performers.
While tickets can go for hundreds of dollars, United is offering a different form of payment.
Usually, United credit card points are used for miles on a flight, but now these miles can also be used to purchase concert tickets.
Here’s how it works.
MileagePlus members can bid for a chance to win two tickets to see Maggie Rogers on May 27 or James Taylor on June 2.
The bidding starts at 12,000 miles for the tickets to Maggie Rogers and 15,000 miles for James Taylor. Members must have that amount in their account before submitting a bid.
The Red Rocks ticket auctions end on Monday, but there’s another chance to experience the world-renowned music venue.
United is also offering a Red Rocks Amphitheatre Performance Travel Package, which anyone can enter until June 5 for a chance to win a trip, which includes travel, hotel and two concert tickets at the music venue.
While you can’t use your miles to purchase any concert ticket at Red Rocks – at least just yet – the partnership is still in its early stages.
If you want to walk the grounds where celebrities like Stevie Wonder and Bob Dylan performed, there’s an opportunity to see a concert without cash coming directly out of your pocket.
FOX31 reached out to United for other Red Rocks perks that may become available throughout the summer. We are still waiting to hear back.
