Six British passengers are in intensive care in Thailand after their plane hit “sudden extreme turbulence”, leaving one dead.

Officials in Bangkok said a further nine Britons were still in hospital receiving treatment after the incident. In all, 58 passengers are still being cared for at three hospitals in the Thai capital Bangkok.

Singapore Airlines Flight 321 had departed Heathrow on Monday evening just after 10.15pm local time, en route to Singapore.
