American Airlines is working to increate capacity at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport by adding more connectivity to several hub airports throughout the country.BTV officials announced on Friday that American Airlines will be adding a second daily flight to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. The airline is also working to increase capacity to Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport beginning in June.BTV said that American Airlines will expand capacity by nearly 50% in August 2024 compared to last year.Total capacity at the airport in August is expected to grow by 26% this year thanks to commitments from several airline partners that service Burlington, including American, Delta Air Lines, Breeze Airways, United Airlines and Sun Country Airlines, BTV said. “These schedule changes reflect our airline partners’ unwavering dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our customers and delivering connectivity in vital markets,” said Director of Aviation Nic Longo in a prepared statement. “We are thrilled to introduce additional flights, new destinations, and expand our capacity to provide travelers with more choices and greater flexibility.”
