You may have noticed a slight design change to our website over the weekend. The Simple Flying team is pleased to reveal that we have launched a new commenting system on our website, offering users even more features. Here’s what you need to know.
One unified account
While previously, there were separate accounts for the comments system and the Simple Flying website, now you will only use the website log-in for all things Simple Flying.
If you haven’t yet created a Simple Flying account, click “Sign In Now” in the top right of your screen.
Once logged in, you can update your display name and profile picture by clicking “My Profile” in the top left and then “Edit Profile.”
Commenting on an article
As before, you can comment on articles by scrolling to the bottom. We ask that all users be respectful in their comments. Please respect our Community Guidelines.
You can filter comments by most popular, oldest, or newest. You can also upvote and downvote comments and reply to other posts. We are in the process of importing older comments, and they should populate the site and user accounts eventually.
Follow stories, authors, and topics
The new website design also includes the option to follow your topics, authors, and individual stories.
You have the option to follow or follow with notifications. We are still working on the notification system, so it will not function as intended at this moment. However, this is a way to personalize your Simple Flying content and follow what is most important to you.
You can find your followed stories, topics, and authors by hovering over ‘my profile’ in the top right of the screen and clicking “Following,” or by navigating to
Discussion threads
With the upgrades to our website, we also now have the ability to dedicate threads to discussions, and we intend to put this functionality to use in the future. You can see an example of one of these threads here:

Discussion: Was The A380 Program A Mistake For Airbus?
Former Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, once called the Airbus A380 his biggest mistake. Airbus canceled the program without ever breaking even, but has recently suggested there is a tiny chance production could be restarted one day.
We hope that this new functionality will allow our community to be more involved in the future. If you have any feedback on these new features, or any suggestions for future discussion topics, please drop us an email and let us know!
