Former US President Donald Trump departed Pennsylvania on his Boeing 757 private jet after leaving the hospital following an attempted assassination where he was shot at during a rally in Pennsylvania.
What happened?
The Republican presidential candidate had just begun addressing his supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania, a critical swing state for the presidential election in November, when shots were fired. The attempted assassination of Donald Trump failed as a bullet flew over his right ear, piercing and slightly injuring it.
He was quickly escorted off stage into a waiting vehicle and transported to a hospital. It was announced that the former US President was safe and healthy. From there, he departed Pennsylvania on his Boeing 757-200 aircraft, registered as N757AF.
Six hours after the failed assassination, Trump’s Boeing 757-200 private jet landed at Newark International Airport (EWR), New Jersey. Shortly after this, video footage appeared on social media showing him waving while walking down the stairs of his private jet. Trump’s Deputy Director of Communications, Margo Martin, shared a video on X. “Strong and resilient. He will never stop fighting for America,” Martin wrote.
The shooter has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park. According to media reports, the Secret Service shot and killed the suspected attacker, who had fired from an elevated position outside the rally venue. The FBI has yet to determine the motive behind the attack.
