A Look At The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024 Flight Show Schedule

EAA AirVenture will be held from July 22 through July 28.

The exhibition includes a week-long airshow, which features the Snowbirds, Red Bull Airforce, and the Warbirds of America, among others. It also has several flight opportunities for the large number of attendees on either helicopters or vintage aircraft, such as the Ford Tri-Motor.

However, many visitors attend the exhibition to see the number of aircraft on display. Several large original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will display their aircraft, such as Cirrus or Textron Aviation.

However, many smaller manufacturers will look to display their unique designs and interesting aircraft. Let’s take a closer look at some of the interesting general aviation aircraft that are scheduled to be on display at this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.

1

Bearhawk Aircraft

Aircraft on display: Patrol, Five, Four

Several unique Bearhawk aircraft will be on display at this year’s event. Bearhawk Aircraft will bring several of its unique kit-aircraft, including the Patrol, the Five, and the Four.

Bearhawk develops its aircraft kits to include a steel tube fuselage, a completely aluminum wing, and oil-dampened suspension. These will be on display at booths 608 and 609.

LX7 Aircraft

Aircraft on display: Piston and turboprop variant

The Redmond, Oregon-based aircraft manufacturer, RDD Enterprises, has designed a unique airframe called the LX7.

This specially-designed aircraft utilizes a focus on precision craftsmanship to create a high-performance aircraft. LX7 is scheduled to bring both of its special aircraft variants to this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Both the piston-powered aircraft and the turboprop-powered variant will be displayed at booth 314.

As previously mentioned, there are two variants of the LX7 aircraft. These aircraft share a similar airframe and several features. These features include a pressurized cabin with large windows, retractable tricycle landing gear, standard de-icing equipment, and an aircraft parachute recovery system.

The piston variant utilizes a Continental TSIO-550E engine, which provides approximately 350 horsepower. The turboprop variant uses a Pratt & Whitney PT6 turboprop engine, which provides up to 750 shaft horsepower.

These aircraft have the following specifications:

Just Aircraft

Aircraft on display: Standard SuperSTOL, SuperSTOL XL, Highlander

This unique company was developed to create short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft that were a bit sturdier than the typical aircraft. These rugged aircraft are designed to withstand difficult terrain and act as a combination of a STOL aircraft and a bush plane. Just Aircraft will bring several aircraft to this year’s event, and they can be seen at booth 925.

Just Aircraft will bring three different aircraft to the exhibition. This includes the SuperSTOL and the SuperSTOL XL.

These are similarly sized tailwheel aircraft, although the XL variant has a useful load of nearly 1,000 pounds depending on the engine selected. The company is also bringing the Highlander, a slightly smaller STOL aircraft.

4

Epic Aircraft

Aircraft on display: E1000 GX

The E1000GX will be brought to this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh by Epic Aircraft. This unique aircraft can be found at booth 235 during the week-long event. The Bend, Oregon-based company is the designer and manufacturer of this unique turboprop aircraft.

The E1000 GX was designed to allow for a more spacious cabin than other turboprop aircraft, including more headroom, a wider cabin, and more legroom. This aircraft has the following performance measures:

Length

35 feet ten inches

Height

12 feet six inches

Wingspan

43 feet

Maximum takeoff weight (MTOW)

8,000 pounds

Range

1,560 nautical miles (1,795 miles)

Maximum cruise speed

333 knots (383 miles per hour)

Service ceiling

34,000 feet

The airframe is mostly made from carbon fiber, keeping the airframe lightweight. It can fit up to six passengers within its pressurized cabin.

It is powered by a PT6A-68A engine, which outputs about 1,200 shaft horsepower. The E1000 GX also utilizes the Garmin G1000 NXi avionics suite within the cockpit.
