American Airlines’ operation fully recovered from CrowdStrike outage

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – American Airlines says its operation is fully recovered from Friday’s global CrowdStrike outage.

Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is one of 10 hubs for American Airlines. The outage stranded several passengers at airports worldwide Friday, including Charlotte.

The recovery was complete Friday and American Airlines says its operation — the largest of all major network carriers — is off to a strong start Saturday.

As of 11 a.m. CT, an American Airlines spokesperson confirmed 43 flights have been canceled — less than 1% of their total operation — and worked to reaccomodate customers.

American Airlines has completed more than 99% of their scheduled departures so far Saturday. Without the CrowdStrike outage, American would have had only 10 cancellations.
