As soon as an aircraft is parked at the gate, several handlers and vehicles approach the aircraft from all directions. From cargo handlers and catering personnel to waste and fuel services, commercial aircraft rely on an army of individuals on the ground. Fees include various costs associated with landing and using facilities and personnel as part of the flight operation. These costs also cover the time the aircraft occupies the terminal gate (or an offsite ramp) as well as fuel cost.
Just like parking your car at the airport, parking an aircraft incurs a cost as well. Today, we explore how much airports charge airlines to park overnight!
