Summary
- Despite the first two days of the Farnborough International Airshow being very active, day three included only a single order for commercial aircraft.
- Air Tahiti ordered four ATR 72-600 aircraft, becoming the manufacturer’s first order during this year’s industry event.
- However, engine makers continued securing orders, while Airbus and Boeing announced various other agreements with their customers.
While day one and day two of the Farnborough International Airshow included plenty of aircraft orders, day three, unfortunately, included only a single deal, which was announced by ATR.
Still, there were plenty of other announcements made by Airbus, Boeing, and other companies involved in the aviation industry.
Day three’s sole order
The day’s only order was when Air Tahiti, the regional airline based in Tahiti, French Polynesia, ordered four ATR 72-600 aircraft, further bolstering its ATR fleet. Deliveries were scheduled between 2025 and 2028.
According to Edouard Wong Fat, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Air Tahiti, with the airline being the cornerstone of connectivity for Tahiti and its islands for more than 65 years, the ATR fleet has been pivotal in its efforts to offer travel options and improve the quality of life for its residents.

Thus, with ATR’s order, Airbus, ATR, and Boeing have now secured orders at the event. At the same time, De Havilland Canada has also secured purchase agreements for second-hand DHC Dash 8 Q400 and orders for new DHC-6 Twin Otters, which were not included in the following list due to being orders for refurbished aircraft and their relatively small size, respectively.
