Avelo Airlines has announced an exciting expansion of its Wine Travels Free Program, allowing passengers to transport their favorite wines at no additional cost across 14 destinations in the Western United States. This initiative aims to enhance convenience for wine enthusiasts, making it easier to enjoy and share their favorite wines.
Free Wine Transport Across the Western U.S.
The program, which originally launched at Avelo’s base in Sonoma County, has received positive feedback from customers. Andrew Levy, Founder and CEO of Avelo Airlines, highlighted the success of the program and its expansion. “Wine lovers throughout the Western U.S.—from the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma to wineries in Oregon, Washington, and beyond—can now take advantage of our program,” Levy said. “We’re making it easier than ever to share your love for wine with family and friends or to simply bring a taste of your favorite Avelo West Coast destination home.”
Program Details and Guidelines
Passengers aged 21 and older can now include one case of wine as part of their checked baggage at no extra cost. A case is defined as a box or container holding up to 12 bottles and weighing no more than 50 pounds.
To ensure the safe transport of wine, customers must adhere to specific packaging guidelines. The wine must be securely packed in a protective case or cardboard box, using materials such as Styrofoam, bubble wrap, or cardboard liners. Avelo Airlines does not provide packing materials at the airport, so travelers should prepare their wine accordingly before arriving at the airport.
Check-In Process
At the airport, customers are required to present their properly packaged wine case to an Avelo crew member at the ticket counter before boarding.
With this expanded program, Avelo Airlines is catering to the needs of wine aficionados, enhancing the travel experience by offering a seamless way to transport cherished bottles from one destination to another.
