Alaska Airlines ranks first with a final score of 87.82, receiving an average customer rating of 4.40 out of 5.

The results of the recent study to identify the top US-based airlines for travel have been released with Alaska Airlines securing the leading position.

Analysts evaluated customer feedback on airlines through Airtrax, employing a comprehensive set of 16 criteria to formulate the index. Each criterion was assigned a specific weight reflecting its significance. Following the allocation of these weights, the cumulative score for the criteria was computed, resulting in an overall index score out of 100 for each airline, which served as the basis for the final rankings.

Alaska Airlines ranks first with a final score of 87.82, receiving an average customer rating of 4.40 out of 5. The airline’s cabin staff service was particularly noteworthy, earning a rating of 3.02 out of 5 from customers.

Customer feedback also highlights that Alaska Airlines offers the most comfortable seats nationwide, which received a rating of 2.80 out of 5.

In second place is Delta Air Lines, achieving a final score of 86.85. Customers provided an average rating of 3.90 out of 5 for the airline. Delta’s inflight entertainment received a commendable rating of 2.93 out of 5, the highest in the country.

Hawaiian Airlines occupies the third position with a final score of 86.08 and an impressive average customer rating of 4.46, the highest among all airlines. Notably, Hawaiian Airlines surpasses Alaska Airlines in cabin staff service, achieving a rating of 3.03 out of 5, which is the highest in the nation.

In fourth position is Southwest Airlines, which has garnered an average customer rating of 4.18 out of 5. The airline excels in value for money, achieving a remarkable score of 2.57 out of 5, the highest in the nation, while its cabin crew service is rated at 2.97 out of 5. This culminates in a total score of 82.93 for the airline.

Following closely in fifth place is JetBlue Airways, which has an average customer rating of 3.33 out of 5. The airline’s inflight entertainment is rated at 2.73, marking it as the second-best in the country, resulting in an overall score of 65.26.

United Air Lines occupies the sixth position with a total score of 49.94. The airline’s average customer rating stands at 2.81 out of 5, with average ratings across most categories. Its cabin crew service is the highest-rated aspect at 2.40 out of 5, while its WiFi and connectivity services receive the lowest rating at 1.80 out of 5.

In seventh place is Sun Country Airlines, which, despite having a final score of 48.44 similar to United Air Lines, exhibits a wider range in customer feedback regarding its services. For example, its cabin crew service is rated at 2.52 out of 5, whereas its WiFi and connectivity score is notably lower at 1.47.

Nonetheless, Sun Country Airlines achieves a higher average customer rating than United Air Lines, with a score of 3.05 out of 5.

Allegiant Air ranks eighth, holding the third-lowest ratings for both inflight entertainment and WiFi and connectivity in the nation, with scores of 1.24 out of 5 and 1.23 out of 5, respectively. Nevertheless, the airline’s cabin crew service is rated at 2.28 out of 5, contributing to an overall customer rating of 2.68 out of 5. This culminates in a final score of 36.04.

American Airlines occupies the ninth position, achieving a final score of 35.54. The airline has an average customer rating of 2.39 out of 5, with its highest score of 2.22 attributed to cabin crew service. Conversely, its ground service received the lowest rating, at 1.68 out of 5.

In tenth place is Spirit Airlines, which has an average customer rating of 1.82 out of 5 and a final score of 16.08. It ranks second-lowest for inflight entertainment, with a score of 1.14 out of 5, while its WiFi and connectivity received the lowest rating of 1.12 out of 5.

The airline deemed least favorable by customers is Frontier Airlines. With an average customer rating of merely 1.77 out of 5, it ranks last in both ground service and food and drink, with scores of 1.36 and 1.37 out of 5, respectively. Additionally, it shares the lowest rating for inflight entertainment, scoring 1.84 out of 5. Its final score stands at a mere 4.53.

Republic Airline, Envoy Air, Endeavor Air, PSA Airlines, Mesa Airlines, CommuteAir LLC, Air Wisconsin Airlines, GoJet Airlines LLC, and Eastern Airlines were not located on AirTrax and were therefore excluded from the study. Additionally, SkyWest Airlines and Horizon Air had less than 100 reviews, leading to their exclusion from the research as well.
