Myanmar National Airlines is providing free transportation of relief supplies and medicines to flood-affected communities through both domestic and international flights. It has also transported relief items sent by the ASEAN AHA Centre via Thailand, according to reports.
Due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, relief supplies for flood-hit areas in Myanmar, provided by the AHA Centre, were transported from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand to Yangon International Airport on September 17. The shipment, weighing 5,560 kg, was delivered via Myanmar National Airlines’ Humanitarian Cargo Flight.
Myanmar National Airlines will continue to support the swift and efficient delivery of these relief items to flood-affected communities.
Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) has been providing free transportation of relief supplies and medicines to flood-affected communities via domestic and international flights. Reports indicate that the airline also transported donated clothing and relief items from Singapore on September 14, 15, and 16, free of charge.
MNA operates daily Yangon-Singapore flights using Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft. The airline, which began operations on September 15, 1948, as the state-owned carrier, marked its 76th anniversary on September 15, 2024. To commemorate this milestone, MNA made several contributions, including the donation of lifelong medical fund to the Sangha Hospital, and blood donations from its staff to the National Blood Bank. Additionally, on September 15, MNA surprised passengers on its flights with flight ticket lucky draws, served 76th anniversary-themed cakes, and offered commemorative photo sessions as a token of appreciation.
MNA also continues to operate its Yangon-Heho-Yangon route every Tuesday, with tickets starting at 23,5000 MMK per trip.
