American Airlines continues to closely monitor Hurricane Milton and will suspend operations at Orlando International Airport (MCO), Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) and Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) Tuesday evening, Oct. 8, due to airport closures. Operations are suspended at Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ).

American is evaluating its operations at other airports in the region, including at the Miami International Airport (MIA) hub, based on the latest weather forecasts.

The airline will operate multiple additional flights with more than 2,000 seats late Tuesday evening, Oct. 8, from MCO to allow customers who would like to evacuate by air the opportunity to do so. This is in addition to the more than 2,000 seats American operated out of Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) Oct. 7: Customers can book these extra flights by contacting Reservations at 800-433-7300. Customers booked on these additional flights will be allowed two free checked bags.
