UK general sales agent (GSA) Air One expects business growth in Asia following affiliate British airline One Air’s green light for flights to China.
Air One has announced plans to open a commercial office in Hong Kong to assist its airline partners and customers in booking capacity to and from China and Asia.
This comes after its partner airline One Air received regulatory approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CCAR-129) to carry out flights to major Chinese airports, including Tianjin (TNA), Zhengzhou (CGO), and Hangzhou (HGH).
The airline has also secured operator approvals from Japan and Malaysia’s aviation authorities.
“These approvals support Air One’s growth strategy to provide customers with more direct and efficient connections across key markets in Asia and enhanced network solutions,” said Air One.
Peter Scholten, chief commercial officer of Air One, which is also the GSA for AEROTRANSCARGO and ROM Cargo, said the latest flight approvals for One Air represent a major milestone in Air One’s ability to meet market demand.
“This is a pivotal moment for Air One and ensures we continue to expand across Asia and beyond. The new regulatory approvals and fleet growth being delivered by the airlines we represent reinforce our ability to deliver exceptional service. We’re thrilled about the opportunities these new developments will bring as we continue to enhance our capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the global cargo industry.”
Moldovan airline AEROTRANSCARGO, Romania-based ROM Cargo and One Air currently operate a combined fleet of 11 Boeing 747-400 freighters and offer cargo capacity to charter brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
One Air recently added a third 747-400F with nose-loading capabilities to its fleet and said it aimed to add a fourth aircraft next year.
While the airline has not confirmed which aircraft type it will invest in, it has in the past spoken about the possibility of adding 777 freighters to its line up.
“In 2025, the commercial fleet marketed by Air One will receive another boost with the planned arrival of two Boeing 777 freighters,” said Air One.
Air Cargo News has requested confirmation from Air One of where the two new 777Fs will be placed.
Since 2020, Air One has successfully organised over 3,750 flights, including more than 1,400 flights originating in Hong Kong.
