Canada’s Porter Airlines has been having a particularly good year, especially with customer satisfaction. The airline’s attention to detail has been paying off recently, as it has won awards and gained recognition.

Four stars for 2025

The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) has rated the airline as a major four-star airline in 2025. This is the first airline rating program based solely on neutral, third-party feedback gathered through APEX’s partnership with travel app TripIt. The ranking results from passenger ratings of almost one million flights across 600 airlines worldwide.

Porter Airlines
was joined by WestJet
and Air Transat
, who were also ranked four stars. Air Canada
took home the biggest accolade and is the only Canadian airline with a five-star rating from APEX.

The airline also received the following accolades this year:

  • Skytrax World Airlines’ North America’s Best Regional Airline
  • Baxter Media’s Favourite Airline – Economy Class Service
  • PAX International’s Most Improved Airline in North America

Last year, the airline won the APEX Passengers’ Choice for Best North American Cabin Service.

Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, said in a statement:

“With no middle seat on any flight, complimentary premium snacks, fresh and healthy meal options, free beer and wine served in glassware, and free, fast WiFi on the E195-E2, we strive to provide all travelers with the elevated economy experience they deserve.”

Porter Airlines has become a fan favorite among travelers. Earlier this month, the airline also nabbed the top spot for Best Economy Class worldwide in the USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards. Surprisingly, the airline beat out more established airlines, such as Singapore Airlines, which is known for its brilliant service and amenities. The other airlines that made up the top five include Southwest Airlines, Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, and Delta Air Lines.

It also has the lowest number of customer complaints among all Canadian airlines.
