Avelo Airlines is continuing its rapid expansion at Lakeland Linder International Airport with the surprise announcement of a new route Thursday.
Avelo, which rhymes with yellow, will begin offering a route to Tennessee’s Nashville International Airport (code BNA) in March 2025. The route will have twice weekly service on Thursdays and Sundays. Fares will start at $49 one-way.
“We’re excited that our airline partner, Avelo Airlines, has launched new destinations to and from Lakeland,” Lakeland City Manager Shawn Sherrouse said in a news release. “Visitors will soon experience the warmth and hospitality of Central Florida, while local travelers can explore exciting locations like Atlanta, Philadelphia and northern Connecticut.”

Avelo launches three new routes this weekend to and from Lakeland, which were previously announced in July:
- Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (code ATL) starting Nov. 7 with tickets starting at $52.
- Delaware’s Wilmington Airport near Philadelphia (code ILG) starting Nov. 7.
- Hartford, Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport (code BDL) starting Nov. 8, tickets starting at $72 each way.
With the addition of Nashville, Avelo has announced nine routes that will be flying in and out of Lakeland Linder since June 2024.
“Between the announcement of our new route to Nashville and the start of these new routes today, customers flying into Lakeland from any of our new destinations can expect more time and freedom to explore Florida in any direction they choose,” Avelo Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said in a press statement.
