Helloworld Travel partnered with Wendy Wu Tours and China Southern Airlines on a famil to China to explore the wonders of the region with the experts.
The famil was held to commemorate and celebrate that Australian passport holders can now travel visa-free to China, taking 8 lucky agents on an unforgettable journey to Guangzhou and Beijing.
Flights and hospitality lounges by China Southern kicked off the famil before the agents arrived in Guangzhou, the headquarters of China Southern. Then followed a 4-day itinerary created by Wendy Wu in both Guangzhou and Beijing that included the sights of the Pearl River night cruise, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Juyongguan Great Wall, and the Summer Palace.
Staying in Hotel Landmark Canton, Guangzhou and Mercure Beijing Downtown the agents also enjoyed an acrobatic show and a traditional Peking duck lunch.
“Flying with China Southern Airlines was pleasant, offering a vast array of in-flight movie entertainment and friendly cabin service,” Helloworld Seven Hills agent, Simone Varlow, said. “Wendy Wu was a fantastic travel choice, with extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly guides who were able to cater to our needs and amend the itinerary on a short notice when needed. Beijing is a city rich in culture, history and unique architecture that captivates its visitors with exquisite scenery Guangzhou is most known for being China’s main transport and trading hub, but also a city with colourful lights and delicious food.”
“China Southern was an airline I had not experienced, but having now flown with them I will sell them with confidence,” Helloworld Cootamundra agent, Jane Bateup, said. “The Wendy Wu guides were so passionate about their jobs and went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. The days were big, but we saw so much. The Great Wall of China was the highlight! I loved Beijing. So different to other Asian cities I have visited, such a vibrant city. I especially loved the visit to the Hu Tong area to the family home where we had lunch and a musical performance. The pet crickets were a novelty and LOUD!! I also really enjoyed the Acrobatics Show – I don’t think I closed my mouth the entire time watching. Oh, and it had the best karaoke bar!! The Mercure was a beautiful hotel with a peaceful feel inside and the robots in the foyer were great.”
“China Southern Airlines had very spacious leg room, updated technology with the entertainment and the food was ok,” Helloworld Travel Stanhoe Gardens agent, Chantal Vavasour, said. “Loved that they had the different coloured shirts for the air hostess which were either Chinese or English speaking. Very visual thing for us Aussies. The air hostesses were friendly and helpful. Wendy Wu guides were very knowledgeable, flexible (if things were cancelled there was always a backup plan), and approachable. We felt like VIPs when we would pass everyone in the lines or didn’t have to show our passport. It was a very quick and easy check-in at the historical sites. Also, luxurious accommodation and very useful that everything was included except drinks/desserts. Friendly people around even though there was a language barrier, great shopping areas, beautiful city and loved visiting the historical sites. Guangzhou highlight was Canton tower. Beijing highlight was The Great Wall.”
