Haiti - FLASH : Port-au-Prince airport closed, update on airlines

Following the attack on Spirit Airlines Flight 951 while landing at Toussaint Louverture International Airport , all U.S. based carriers, including American Airlines out of Miami International Airport, have canceled all Tuesday flights to Port-au-Prince.

In a statement, the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince said it was aware of gang-led efforts to block travel to and from Port-au-Prince, which could include armed violence and disruptions on roads, ports, and airports. The U.S. Embassy has confirmed the temporary suspension of operations at Toussaint Louverture International Airport effective November 11, 2024.

JetBlue Airways announced late Monday that it will suspend all flights to and from Haiti through December 2.

Sunrise Airways advises that due to the closure of Toussaint Louverture International Airport, all flights to/from Port-au-Prince (domestic and international) are suspended until further notice.

Spirit Airlines has confirmed the temporary suspension of flights to Cap-Haïtien following the shooting incident that occurred Monday in Port-au-Prince . Flights to Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haïtien are now suspended pending further assessment, according to a Spirit spokesperson.
