BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — The 68th Assembly of Presidents of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) commenced in Brunei on Wednesday, local media reported.

The two-day meeting, hosted by Royal Brunei Airlines, is themed “Jetting into 2050 – Future-proofing Asian Aviation” and brings together leaders from leading airlines in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the local daily Borneo Bulletin.

“The industry’s path to full recovery is still marked by obstacles. We must work together under the AAPA umbrella to overcome these hurdles and operate safely and sustainably,” said Captain Sabirin, CEO of Royal Brunei Airlines.

The main topics discussed during the assembly included aviation sustainability, decarbonization efforts to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, digital transformation, and enhancing passenger experiences through seamless, digitized services, the Borneo Bulletin reported.
