NEW DELHI, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — Indian airlines IndiGo and Air India on Wednesday cancelled their flights to Indonesia’s Bali due to ash clouds from a volcanic eruption near the resort island.

The eruption of Mount Lewotobi earlier this month in the East Nusa Tenggara province, about 800 km from Bali, killed 10 people.

“Due to a recent volcanic eruption in Bali, flights to/from the region have been cancelled, as ash clouds may impact air travel,” reads an advisory put out by IndiGo Airlines on its social media.

IndiGo operates a daily flight from Bengaluru to Bali.

Local media reports quoting an official from Air India said it has also cancelled its Bali flight.

The airline operates a flight every day from Delhi to the Indonesian island.

Several international airlines have cancelled their flights to and from Bali because of the volcanic eruptions.
