If you’re thinking about booking a holiday for 2025, then you’re in luck as there are now even more cheap options to choose from, as a budget airline is launching new flights from a London airport.

Jet2holidays has announced they will be flying to 17 sunny destinations across Europe, the Canary Islands, and the Mediterranean from London Luton Airport as of Summer 2025.

The airline’s first flight will depart from the airport on April 1, heading for Majorca. Other destinations passengers will be able to jet off to include Alicante, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Ibiza, Crete, Zane, Dalaman, and Reus.

There will also be three destinations that are exclusive to Jet2 from the airport base – Girona, Madeira and Verona.

Up to 36 weekly flights will be operated for the first summer of operations, with 430,000 seats on sale now. And the best part is that these flights start from as little as £29 (at the time of writing), with 10kg hand luggage included.

And if you sign up for a MyJet2 account, this price could get even cheaper, as customers save £20 per person on all Summer 2025 return flights.

Customers travelling from London Luton Airport can book their Jet2holiday directly via the website, mobile app, by phoning the customer Contact Centre, or alternatively through an independent travel agent.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: ‘We are very excited to announce London Luton Airport as our 13th UK airport base today, further expanding our footprint and bringing our award-winning holidays and flights to even more customers. Customers and independent travel agents have been asking us to open at London Luton Airport for many years now, so we know how enormously popular this announcement will be.

‘We have seen time and time again how popular our product is when we bring it to new customers, and we look forward to delivering our VIP customer service to holidaymakers from our newest airport base.’

We are looking forward to our first day of flying, when we can begin delighting customers with our flights and holidays, just like we do with millions of other customers across the UK every single year.’

Alberto Martin, Chief Executive at London Luton Airport, added: ‘We are delighted to welcome Jet2, the UK’s leading package holiday provider, to London Luton Airport. The arrival of Jet2 is fantastic news for the millions of passengers who choose to fly from the airport each year and marks a major expansion of Jet2’s operations in the south of England. It will also create exciting new jobs for local people and new opportunities for our local supply chain that we already work so closely with.

‘Next year is shaping up to be another bumper year for London Luton Airport and the addition of 17 exciting new routes on our departure boards, including three destinations that are exclusive to the airport, underlines our commitment to providing even greater choice as part of our simple and friendly passenger experience.’

If you’d rather hop on a train than a pane, the Eurostar recently announced a flash sale with cheap tickets to Lille, Paris, and more.

To celebrate their 30th birthday, the train company has launched a huge flash sale, with 30% off across all routes and booking classes. But, you’ll have to be quick. The sale will last for just three days, from November 12 to November 14.

The discount is only available for travel between November 26, 2024, and February 13, 2025.

The fares are available across all their routes, from London to Paris, Lille, Brussels, Amsterdam and Rotterdam, but it’s worth noting that the Amsterdam and Rotterdam trains require a connection in Brussels. The sale also does not apply after February 9 for these two cities.

At the time of writing, there were some bargain deals to be had. Tickets for a long weekend in Paris in February (January 31 to February 3) could be purchased for as little as £78 return, while you can get to Lille for £54 return on the same dates.

Alternatively, if you travel mid-week, it’s even cheaper. Available now, a return ticket in January (Wednesday 8 to Thursday 9) will cost just £54 return to Lille, £79 to Brussels, £61 to Paris, £92.50 to Amsterdam and £90.50 to Rotterdam.
