Flair Airlines is guaranteeing passengers their flight will arrive on time and offering vouchers for delays.
Confidence is key
In an unprecedented move, Canadian carrier Flair Airlines
has announced that it will compensate passengers if its flights do not arrive on time. No other airline does this in Canada. Flair has called its new initiative the On-Time Guarantee (OTG).

It is important to note that compensation will only be offered if a flight is delayed more than 60 minutes. Additionally, if a flight is canceled within 72 hours of departure, Flair will compensate passengers. Compensation will only be available to those who book directly with Flair.
The airline is valuing its compensation at $60, offering passengers flight vouchers in the event of delays or cancelations.
“Our commitment to passengers has never been stronger. With the OTG, we’re raising the bar in Canadian aviation. The guarantee is simple: if we don’t get you there on time, we’ll compensate you. No other airline in Canada offers this level of accountability. We’re confident in our operations, and we’re putting it all on the line for our passengers.”
Juliana Ramirez, the airline’s Vice President of Ancillary & Digital Innovation, said that Flair is determined to earn the trust of its customers.
Just a few weeks ago, Flair highlighted that it was the most reliable airline in Canada in October. The low-cost carrier boasted a 99.6% completion rate last month, even beating out Air Canada by more than one percentage point. Its on-time performance was slightly lower.

According to the same announcement, Flair had 82% of its flights arrive on time last month. While it beat out Air Canada, Canada’s largest airline, it was still behind Porter Airlines and WestJet. Maciej Wilk, Flair’s interim CEO said that 82% was not good enough and the airline strived for more.
During the previous month, Flair was Canada’s most punctual airline. In September, 83.4% of Flair’s flights arrived on time, beating WestJet, which had 82.1%. September’s stronger performance made Flair the sixth-most punctual airline in North America.
Summer 2025
Early last month, Flair unveiled its schedule for next summer. The route with the most significant increase is from Toronto to Vancouver, which will have a 71% weekly increase. Calgary-Toronto will have a 29% increase.

Domestic services are not the only ones increasing. According to the airline’s announcement, flights to the Mexican city of Guadalajara will be added from two cities. Service from Toronto will increase by 50% to thrice-weekly flights. Flights from Vancouver will be doubled, from two to four weekly frequencies.
From Toronto, Flair expects to add one weekly frequency from Toronto to Kingston, Jamaica. From Vancouver, Flair will also add one frequency, increasing its operations to San Francisco. As of next summer, Flair will connect the two cities starting at $59. Sumanth Rao, who recently joined Flair as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), said,
“We aim to maximize the efforts of the efficiency of our fleet by focusing on high-demand routes. Canadians will see us flying more frequently between major cities, offering more affordable travel choices on the most important routes to our passengers.”
