A Southwest Airlines plane was struck by gunfire while preparing for takeoff from an airport in Dallas, US, on Friday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In a statement posted on its website, the FAA reported: “While taxiing for takeoff at Dallas Love Field Airport, Southwest Airlines Flight 2494 was reportedly hit by gunfire near the cockpit.”
The Boeing 737-800 returned to the gate, where passengers disembarked safely.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 pm on Friday (02:30 GMT Saturday). The flight was scheduled to travel from Dallas, Texas, to Indianapolis, Indiana.
No injuries were reported, according to a statement from Dallas Love Field Airport shared on the social media platform X.
