easyJet has announced the launch of 26 new routes for summer 2025 including the low-cost airline’s first ever sub-Saharan service in its nearly 30-year history.
Among the 26 destinations announced on November 19, 2024, is a new service to the island of Sal in Cape Verde which is located off the coast of Senegal.
The first easyJet flights from London-Gatwick Airport (LGW) to Sal will take off on March 31, 2025, and operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the summer season.
“We’re proud to be releasing such an incredible range of new routes and package holidays today, providing more choice for customers to visit more of the places they love across Europe and to experience some incredible new destinations. This includes a milestone route for easyJet to beautiful Cape Verde, our first ever sub-saharan service,” said Ali Gayward, easyJet UK Country Manager.
From the 26 newly announced routes, 21 will fly from the UK and includes easyJet’s first ever service to Rimini in Italy, which will also fly from Gatwick.
London-Luton Airport’s (LTN) routes will expand with services to the Andalusian capital Almeria in Spain and Funchal in Madeira on Wednesdays and Sundays from June 1, 2024.
Five new routes from Manchester Airport (MAN) include flights from June 2025 to Izmir, Kalamata, Larnaca, Madrid and Rome.
easyJet’s newest UK base at Birmingham Airport (BHX) will add new services to Gran Canaria and Malta while Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) will introduce new Spanish routes to Malaga and Palma.
Two new routes will take off from Glasgow Airport (GLA) to Antalya in Turkey and Reus in Spain and easyJet will add Enfidha in Tunisia, Marrakech in Morocco and Olbia on the Italian island of Sardinia from Edinburgh Airport (EDI).
A route to Reus will also be served by a twice weekly service from Belfast International Airport (BFS).
The other non-UK routes are Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) to Strasburg and Palmero in Sicily, Basel to Rimini, Malaga to Marrakech and Alicante to Athens.
easyJet’s European short-haul network will now offer more than 1,000 routes to over 160 airports across 37 countries.
