AJet has received a substantial TRY15 billion (USD434 million) capital boost from its parent company, Turkish Airlines, according to a regulatory filing with Türkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform.
“The capital of our 100% subsidiary AJet Hava Taşımacılık A.Ş. has been increased by TRY15 billion in line with the company’s growth strategies,” the disclosure stated.
The move signals Turkish Airlines’ commitment to AJet’s development amid plans for operational independence. Turkish Airlines has not yet commented on the decision, though ch-aviation has reached out for further details.
This capital injection follows the recent announcement that AJet would resume its partnership with SunExpress (XQ, Antalya), a collaboration previously in place during AJet’s time as AnadoluJet. Since obtaining its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and rebranding, AJet has been shifting its focus toward reducing its dependence on ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) agreements.
Earlier this year, Turkish Airlines chairman Ahmet Bolat highlighted AJet’s ambitions to expand its independent operations and enhance its role within Türkiye’s aviation market.
The capital increase is expected to accelerate AJet’s growth plans, potentially paving the way for fleet expansion and new routes as it strengthens its position under the Turkish Airlines umbrella.
