Turkish Airlines is set to expand its presence at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport by operating from the highly anticipated New Terminal One, slated to open in 2026. The airline, which already operates 19 weekly flights from JFK to its hub in Istanbul, will unveil a brand-new lounge as part of its enhanced operations at the airport.

The New Terminal One is a centerpiece of the Port Authority’s ambitious $19 billion transformation project for JFK Airport. Spanning 2.6 million square feet and boasting 23 gates, the terminal is set to become the largest at JFK and the largest international terminal in the United States. The terminal’s constructor and operator, Ferrovial, promises that T1 will deliver “the highest levels of passenger experience.”

Turkish Airlines’ new lounge will occupy 11,000 square feet, making it twice the size of the airline’s current lounge. It will feature premium amenities, expansive views of the airport’s airfield, and direct boarding access to aircraft. Speaking about the new development, Turkish Airlines chairman of the board and executive committee Ahmet Bolat stated that the state-of-the-art lounge “underlines [the airline’s] commitment to continue [its] growth in the US market.”

Turkish Airlines will join a growing roster of prestigious carriers that have committed to operating from New Terminal One. These include Philippine Airlines, the first Southeast Asian airline to sign on, along with Air France, KLM, Etihad, LOT Polish Airlines, Air China, Korean Air, EVA Air, Air Serbia, SAS, and Neos.

The opening of New Terminal One is part of JFK’s broader modernization efforts aimed at improving passenger comfort and operational efficiency. With Turkish Airlines’ expanded presence and its new lounge, travelers will enjoy enhanced connectivity and a premium travel experience when flying through one of the world’s busiest gateways.
