This is a great cheap way to get to Connecticut or New York from Portland, Maine
Starting May 22, 2025, Avelo will fly to HVN on Connecticut’s coast, twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. It’s a great way to all 15 towns that make up Greater New Haven. Plus, it’s right in the heart of hopping on major highways and trains to get to other parts of New England and New York. Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said in a press release,
We are proud to announce service in Maine and introduce a new era of convenient, affordable, and industry-leading reliable travel to Portland. This service makes visiting Southern Connecticut, and everything the greater New England and New York regions have to offer, easier than ever. We also look forward to making Portland’s artistic and outdoor adventure, and art, music, and culinary scene a fast and seamless journey for Connecticut travelers.
How do you say Portland, Maine’s new airline Avelo?
Think hello, Avelo! It rhymes, UH-VELL-O, like yellow or jello. They are making news in the airline industry too. And not bad news. Year-to-date, Avelo ranks #1 in on-time performance – with an 85% on-time arrival rate. Avelo also achieved the lowest flight cancellation rate in the industry – canceling 0.5% of its flights between January and October.
Oh sure, now you’re wondering when you can leave?
Stretch out on Avelo with lots of advanced seating options. One-third of the seats (Avelo Premium and Premium Economy) have extra legroom. There are lots of extras you can book too like priority boarding if you want that. Hmm. I have a brother in Connecticut…
